You did hit a bug, actually. I've been tracing the problem and it's already 
fixed in trunk (the upcoming Cherokee 0.99.45).

You can fix up you configuration by editing the rule (Directory /blog AND File 
exists). Go to 'Rule' and ensure that 'If dir, check index files' is unchecked. 
That should fix it.
