I'm not; binding to ALL was just a way of excludig other problems. I always use a tunnel for security. It's just that the problem only manifests itself with cherokee (and php-cgi, which is started by cherokee-worker) and I can't find WHY it won't bind to localhost.
I just installed a clean Ubuntu 10.04 server in VirtualBox and everything works perfectly (with cherokee 1.0.0), so it's probably NOT cherokee. But... no firewalls, IPv6 disabled, ports are free, localhost resolves to 127.0.0.1, etc. I just don't get it. Does someone know where I can best ask this question or find good resources?
