We are using Cherokee with Pound and in lieu of Pound in places.

What I recommend is trying something very simple with no Regex rules
or anything to simulate the flow of traffic through your new Cherokee
balancer configuration. Something like a Hello World HTML file. Do
this just to make sure your install indeed is functioning as expected
and to get familiar with the Admin and how everything works.

Once you perfect that you can adopt it to meet your rules like specified.
