Replies to this message are sent to The Chevelle Mailing List ------------------------------------------------------------ I had this same problem. Apparently they decided to relocate the grease fittings to be the same for both inners & outers. The only way to tell the difference now is by the direction of the threads. I forget which one is supposed to be left-handed (mine are probably backwards!) but there is a standard that will screw up most any of the garage jockeys if you get it wrong. It should not make a hill of beans difference to the car or the handling, but adjustments will be a pain if you diverge from the "standard". Now I'll have to check mine to just be sure I didn't screw it up on my 66. I'll see if I can help I remember reading about someone who bought a new front end kit and couldn't identify the inner tie rod ends from the new outer tie rod ends. At the time I thought, "duh.." but since I bought my kit,(67) I cant tell either. I will probably look up the part numbers, but I was wondering what the initial answer was.... any one remember? I am 43 years old now and like some of our other younger Chevelle friends I thought somewhat like some of them..... BUT never to intentionally hit a person head on! That is so damn ignorant and so lacking it blows my mind! I am done with this bonehead subject matter. Damn..... this has hit a sore spot with me!!!
