Same problem occurred when I installed my new Holley 650 DP on my 327. I
have a Performer RPM intake and needed the 1" spacer to gain enough
clearance for the manifold vacuum connection near the distributor.
Anyway, There is no need to buy anything other than a new air cleaner
element. Buy the thin one that is standard for a second gen Camaro. The
elements are only about 1-1&1/2" in height & should give you the clearance
you need.
