Sounds exactly like the 66 I bought about 6 years ago. It'll take a lot of
time & $. Mine had a start axle also. After I towed it home I discovered the
frame was cracked on both sides behind the front wheels were the frame turns
up. You may want to look at that area closely. I ended up changing the frame
out & putting disk from a 71 cutlass on along with countless other mods &
hard work. Food for thought., Dan
