I've seen the "El Cawagon" shown in Magazine, although when I last saw it, the color was white. It belonged to an ACES Member, who purchased it already "converted." Hot Rod got it right with their tongue-in-cheek assessment, calling it "an El Camino with a roof from a wagon." I think the current owner might have been listening to too many "Yeah, I know where there's another one just like that" stories. I used to hear it all the time when I cloned my original 307-powered '70 Concours wagon into an SS454 with a long roof. Surprised me how many people would come up and regale me with the old "Yeah, I had one just like it back in '73" stories. A while back there was a '65 Chevelle "sedan Delivery" for sale on the internet. The owner made no claims about it being "one of only ...." , but I got plenty of calls on the ACES Tech Line from folks considering buying the car, and wanted us to authenticate its rarity.

As long as we are on magazines. Has anyone seen the supposedly 1 of 6 71
sedan delivery the latest issue of hot rod? looks like a converted el camino
to me. Anyone have any knowledge of these really being for real?
