I've subscribed to Hot Rod since the mid-or late-60's. Like many
others, I have almost all of those issues.
I did not renew my subscription this last time. I got very tired of
the editorial smart-alec attitude, the continual use of foul language
in the articles, and the overuse of scantily clad female models. It
has been the only magazine I get which I had to keep put away. If any
subscriber dare complain to the editors about any of these issues,
they have been ridiculed in print.
When asked why I was not renewing, I told the Hot Rod staffer who
called. I got no response. I had the feeling they didn't really care.
Sorry to be prudish, but I expect a certain level of professionalism
in a magazine which costs over $20 per year. Hot Rod has not shown any
desire to meet that standard recently.
I am still happy with Super Chevy, Popular Hot Rodding, and the ACES
Chevelle mag.
