So, in my search for a
71-72 Chevelle SS convertible, I called about a car listed and it was on
consignment at a dealer. I asked the usual questions and when it came to
whether the numbers matched, he said that there is no such thing as a matching
numbers 454 car. He said that the heads were defective on all the 454's
and that all the engines were replaced. I've never heard this before,
and as it sounded a little fishy to me, I thought I would ask the experts here
on the list.
