I just put together a mild 454, stock heads (049 with 2.19/1.88), crank, block, 10:1 hypereutectic pistons, roller cam, etc. Everything on the engine is new and/or rebuild/reconditioned. The head have been professionally rebuilt, with new valve guides, seals, etc. The rings are file fit chrome moly. It runs fine, but I'm getting oil out of the valve cover breathers. I have brand new Edelbrock round enclosed chrome breathers (baffle in opening, foam inside, vent holes on the bottom). I don't really get much oil when the car is running in the garage, but it makes a real mess when I go for a drive. Any suggestions? Why am I getting the excess oil? And how do I cure it? It's making a mess!
