We quit driving our 70 Malibu (picture if anyone cares:
http://www.ucalgary.ca/~csimpson/70_large/byhouse.jpg )
in 1995 but before that it "got around."

It's been in family since new and has 370,000 miles on it. The wife had at
least 6 accidents in it. Then she met me and I taught her how to drive
properly :)

Next year I hope to convert it back to the original bench seat and start
putting some real miles on it again with the kids up front. Try that in a
car with airbags :0

Mother in law used to drive the Malibu over 900 miles a week. In '71 they
moved 90 miles from the school where she taught so she commuted for a
year. The real kicker is the car has that many miles on the odo but her
husband says the speedo cable was disconnected for some of 71 so he could
keep it under warranty.
