> So who drives their Chevelle or Elky the most ??? How about the least for a true daily driver? While I drive the Chevelle virtually daily (with a car seat in the back for my 2 year old daughter so I can take her to school), I only drive a thousand or so miles a year. Problem is, I work less than 2 miles from home, so even with a few outside trips it is hard to break 2,000 miles a year! Last year was barely over 1,000 miles driven. Now, years ago before I was married and bought my wife the 4WD Blazer, I used to use my Chevelle for ski trips. 750 mile weekends (LA to Mammoth) and 2,000 miles in a week (Tahoe, SLC, Taos) was a regular thing for us back then. I took it from LA to Taos with three guys and five pairs of skis on top (think 13 mpg) at an average speed of 80 mph. The other car in our caravan was a turbo Celica GT. Even with the huge aerodynamic disadvantage he could not keep up with the beast from Chevrolet. I did have the roof rack break free on one trip to Salt Lake City, but we were able to slow down before the rear came off. Even covered in salt and mud, I still got compliments from people!
