The following steps apply to all Windows
platforms
1. Eject
the CanoScan Setup Utility CD-ROM and re-insert it
2. Click
[Install the Software]
3. Click
[Start Installation], and click [Yes]
4. The
installation procedure will start.
Follow the message prompts and click [Yes] or [Next] to continue the
installation
5. When
the installation is complete, click [Yes]. The computer will restart
6. After
Windows restarts, remove the CD-ROM from the drive and store it in a safe
place
Method Two:
Go to the Control Panel
Go to Add new Hardware.
See if the Add Hardware program will find and load the drivers
for you.
Use the drivers which come with the scanner even if they are
for Windows 98.
Method Three:
If you computer is big enough to take it, see if someone will
give you a copy of Window98. If you have an old computer like a 133 Mhz with
16megs of ram, you will have problems loading WIndows 98.

Computer questions (New Scanner)
Hey everyone, since we've lately been on
the subject of computers, I thought I'd ask some pestering questions.
First off, let me tell you, I had a lot of fun at Best Buy
today. I eventually left with a wireless keyboard and wireless mouse, a
scanner, and I almost even walked out with a $500 digital camera, but
thankfully I gained my senses before that part :o)
Now about my
question... It's this new scanner. It's a Canon CanoscanN670U.
Apparently I wasn't thinking at the time, but it's only for Windows 98 and
Windows 98/2000 Professional. I only have windows 95. I was
wondering if it would work anyways, because I REALLY don't want to take it
back. Everything plugs in fine, the problem is that the computer is not
recognizing the new "Hardware." Anyone know what I should do? I
sure as hell don't.
I guess now would be a good time to switch to
Windows 98 or 2000, but I'd much rather find a way for it to work with
95. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
