Actually, it's most shared mail servers that have the limit. The hosting companies & ISPs don’t want their users tying up all those resources. A friend of mine recently sent me a 10MB file w/ no problem. A client sent me a 6.5MB file the night before last. I have my own domain name and no limit on message size. Netcom/Earthlink/Mindspring does have a limit. I think it's only 1MB.
