But it could just be somebody who really wants the item and doesn't realize that the only bid that matters is the last one. I know a lot of people frown on "sniper bidding" but it's the only way I buy anything on ebay. I wait until a minute before the auction closes and if it's still at a price I'm willing to pay, I put in a bid. I don't use any special software and I am on a dialup connection. I have received nastygrams from people b*tching about how they watched the item for a week and then I took it out from under them.
