You might try AnPac Insurance; (AMERICAN NATIONAL INSURANCE COMPANY). I
have had my 1972 El Camino and 1970 Avanti ll insured with them for
years. I've never had a claim but they insured both vehicles for
appraisal value on the Avanti and my request on the El Camino. They had
the Avanti appraised which cost me less than $30 and didn't even worry
about the El Camino. I'm allowed up to 7500 miles per car per year which
I had to request. The kicker is that you have to have another car as a
daily driver so don't know what they would require with you being 18
years of age. I'm closer to 60 so don't have to deal with that problem.
Maybe your father could insure the car and have you as an additional
driver.
AnPac's main office is in Springfield, Mo. I don't have their phone
number but my agent is Delbert Sawyer, phone # 913 856 8050. I'm sure
that he could point you in the right direction for your location or you
could call information in Springfield, Mo.
Just a thought.
Hobo.
