I have had insurance with allstate for 30 years and have always had replacement value on my cars. The agent advised me to keep receipts, take photos and video in the case of a loss. In 1998, some SOB stole the 66 mustang that we had built from the ground up for my daughter to drive to collage(yeah I know it was a F**d). It was stolen striped & burned. The adjuster asked me to bring him my receipts and photos which totaled $10,800 and allstate wrote me a check for $11,448 which was what I had receipts for plus the 6% state sales tax. I didn't get any thing for the labor that my son, daughter, wife, future son-in-law, and myself put into the car but I had no complaint against Allstate. I have since insured my two remaining vehicles ,67 Camero & 67 Chevelle SS 396 convertible, with JC Taylor. It is a stated value policy and costs less that $300 per year and I was paying Allstate about $1900 per year.
