John, it sounds like you have the later-model thermostat housing. So, if you find a correct hose for a '66 w/V8, it's probably not going to fit. If you want to email me privately ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) I happen to have a early-style Summit chrome housing w/ O-ring seal new in the package that might let you use a stock '66 upper hose if you can get one. -Dave -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, January 04, 2002 7:57 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [Chevelle-List] radiator hose help Replies to this message are sent to The Chevelle Mailing List ------------------------------------------------------------ In a message dated 1/3/02 10:22:58 PM Atlantic Standard Time, [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: << Hey John, you mentioned it's a 350, which wouldn't be stock for a '66 -- does it have an early style thermostat housing? I believe the early ones (pre-68?) point almost directly forward off the engine, while the later housing were angled off towards the driver's side. At least this might help with the upper hose. I don't know what to tell you about the lower one. -Dave, [EMAIL PROTECTED] >> ===================================================== dave.... the neck is angled to the drivers side of the car , this would be helpful to me if you could tell me which one that would be. as for the bottom it angles slightly to the left below the water pump. but one is better than none thanks........john ----------------------------------------------------- To Unsubscribe please visit www.chevelles.net/list.html To start a new topic, send mail to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ----------------------------------------------------- To Unsubscribe please visit www.chevelles.net/list.html To start a new topic, send mail to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
