Title: Heater fuse...
The decision has to be a personal one based on more emotions than logic. Something that's not easy for us guys in most cases.

First of all, some others may be, but I am "not worthy" ;)

Second, just curious, but why would you want so badly to move to a place you know little about?

Third, please leave your E-mail address so I can fill ya in a little bit. I have "been there, done that" I am a California boy that moved to Ohio, near Dayton. Now I know there are some of you saying "why the HECK would he do something like THAT?" Well so many of the "fruits and nuts" from here moved there that I couldn't afford to live there anymore so decided to move back to one of their houses. Just kidding, it was job related ...but it was a good move in many other ways as well.

I am about an hour and 15 from Columbus. Been to Columbus several times. No sign of the Nina, Pinta,or Santa Maria, but there is a small Chevelle club.  www.ohiochevelle.com   I am checking it out now.

Just sent my ACES membership in, so looks like some of you dudes will have to put up with me in Nashville if I can get my reservations in before the procrastinators. Last one in the pool has to guard the beer!  Wait .... have to think about that.

Lastly, I reserve all judgement on selling the Elky. Other than saying that you have to love what you work on and invest in, and as others pointed out, you do it for the love of the car, not what it's worth afterwards because no car will be worth what you put into it, in time alone. The decision has to be a personal one based on more emotions than logic. Something that's not easy for us guys in most cases.

Subject: [Chevelle-List] Oh great and all knowing chevelle list...

I have come to a cross road...

My wife and I have be thinking about moving to Columbus, Ohio for some time now and our new years resolution is to be in Columbus by the end of July.

The idea of moving prompts the idea of selling my 1969 El Camino.  The wife has been very supportive in my project, however she doesn't like the idea of spending over its resale value.  Which I would go over if I continued the project.  To convince me that I should sell the El Camino, she has agreed to let me get a loan for up to $9K to buy my dream car (1967 Chevelle), once we get to Columbus.

So I need the knowledge and experience of the "List"

1).  Do I sell my Elky, give into the urge of a 67 Chevelle and take a large loss on what I've put into the Elky ($5500 total spent)?

1b).  If I did sell it how much would I be able to get?
        1969 El Camino Malibu
        Super cold A/C
New Suspension all around (PST kit(polygraphite)/gas-a-just/springs)
        New brakes all around (Drums)
Brand New Michelin tires all around
New Holley 750 carb W/Holley Contender intake
        Rebuilt rear axle
        new split bench seat

OR

2).  Do I keep the El Camino and spend $8k to get it running and looking the way I want it to.

______________

Also if anyone has any info about Columbus Ohio I'd sure be interested in knowing what it's like up there.

______________

Thanks,

JM
