There are probably more clone SS's available than the General made so first thing is beware. Don't pay a premium for an SS unless you are absolutely sure it is what you want. Go here: http://www.chevelles.com/shop/index.shtml for some useful info on ID'ing an SS. UNTIL 68 the VIN will ID a true SS, but 69 & above, the only thing that guarantees an SS is paperwork. IE build sheet, protecto-plate or original window sticker, sales contract. If you have any doubts, post questions here or at the TRIM TAG Forum of Chevelle Tech. This may or may not help you, but it is interesting: http://www.chevelles.com/aces/vol1/aces_10.htm also this : http://www.chevelles.com/shop/buying.html You may know this, but chevelles are famous for rusting out 1- in front & rear window areas 2-lower fenders (front & rear) and 3- floor pans if it has window leaks. Are you aware of the Team Chevelle For Sale Pages:http://www.chevelles.com/ads/forsale/index-on.html Good Luck in your quest. My range is 8K - 10K for one that is all there, solid, but could use a complete go through. On limited fiances you'll have to be willing to put more sweat equity into it. If you want a true SS you'll need to educate your self on identifying a true SS from a clone. But hey I'm looking too, so any buying info to Craig's question would be greatly appreciated. Can someone give me some advise so I don't get taken. Thanks for any help.
