Kelly, I don't know where you get your information. Outlook 2000 (and I believe XP) not only will not launch executables, they will permanently and irretrievably be quarantined (automatically). You just get a message saying that the email contains a "potentially unsafe attachment" that has been blocked. You can't launch an executable in Outlook even if you try. Maybe you're thinking about Outlook Express, but I don't see why they would have removed that "safety feature" for the lite version. This "feature" is actually a pain, and I wish I could turn it off, but there is no way. I have a friend who used to do 2nd-level support at Microsoft, and she looked into it for me. There are at least a half-dozen file extensions that are automatically quarantined. It is for the good of the people. John Nasta Old Car Network http://oldcarnetwork.com -----Original Message----- Make sure you set Outlook to NOT automatically open executables....that's the main problem with Outlook's security issues....more often than not the executable is the problem rather than attachments, although they can be a problem as well.
