Denny, a BUILT th-350 should be able to handle your 502. With limited
traction on the street, the 10bolt w/3.55gears should hold up to occasional WOT.
Though with slicks or ET Streets, you can say sayanara to your
ring/pinion/posi/axles/u-joints.

I purchased my 502 in 1996 and had to change the oil pan and oil pickup tube
as it came with a reverse(marine)style pan...GM may have changed the oil
pan to a conventional style on the currect 502's. No fuel pump boss either, have to
run an electric fuel pump. Other than those two items, everything else fit/worked
just fine.

I say go for it.
