Hmmm, had to think a lot on this one....to the best of my feeble mind it kind a went in this order: 1. 65 F*rd Galaxy Custom 4dr 250ci, auto crashed it on an ice puddle with no front bumper, totalled, my first accident. 2. 66 Chevy Malibu 2dr ht 230ci/PG added 2bbl/and Clifford research man, CherryBomb muffs 3. 72 Olds Cutlass S 350/2bbl th350 >added 4bbl, headers/ 2-1/2 exh./ manual shift kit/ 4. 82 Pontiac Grand Ville I loved this car! Bought from a guy for $300.00, drove it into the ground... 5. 56 Chevy 210 2dr post 230(?)/3spd '69 327/, 11.00:1/big cam/4 spd/ > then to a worked TH400 6. 72 Buick Riviera reminded me of a giant split window vette, kinda sorta...guess ya hadda be there.. 7. 65 Caprice Sport ended up selling it back to the guy I bought from for a 500.00 profit. 8. 66 Chevelle SS396 427 built "L88" style/ m22/ 3.73 12bolt/ I swear this car was possesed! Ended up parting it out! All that remains is the vin tag and cowl tag. 9. 72 Olds 98 10. 66 Malibu 2dr ht rolling shell put the 327/ TH400 from the '56 Chevy into it. Gave it to my sister when the landlord said it was me or the car...switched out the 327 for a 350 from my brothers Monte. She ended up going away to school, and the car got sold (I think?) 11. 75 Lincoln Mk IV Aircraft Carrier style hood, gotta love the electrical problems, and 3 front ends in 3 years--traded in on a brand new........ 12. 85 Jetta. Wolfsburg Edition my first brand new car. Lowered it, all the other crap that goes with that. One tough car, went for about 250, 000 miles, before I drove it into the right rear quarter of a buick regal at about 50 mph. I drove home, she got towed (from the sidewalk, where she ended up facing in the opposite direction) Used it in my driveway to push and pull my '79 VW Westfalia camper project around. 13. 84 VW Vanagon The slowest vehicle (next to a bumper car) I have ever driven. Another long story I wont go into.... :) I still have the damn thing, it takes up space parked in front of the house and annoys my !#%$& mother in law, which makes ME very happy 14. 89 VW Jetta Wolfsburg Got this from my sister when she moved to Belgium on business. I got sandwhiched while waiting for a draw bridge, by a guy in a dodge van who was doing like 50...I was still able to drive it, and I did for about 3 months- until it became REALLY un reliable. 15. Back to the 84 Vanagon Like I said, long story.....by this time, I am REALLY hankerin' for some BIG BLOCK power, after driving "The Brick" 150 miles a day to work and back. Hmmm, Vanagon+ BigBlock?...nah....maybe the 327? LOL.... 16 Canadian 66 Malibu SS Kind of weird owning an "imported" Chevelle. I think this will be the last one, unless you pry it from my cold dead hands. 17. '01 Hyundai Accent GLS Bought a commuting car, 100k mi/10 yrs bumper-to-bumper, gets good gas mileage for the 1000 miles a week I put on it, and it evem has working heat and A/C! In between these there were 3 or 4 VW Beetles, a 64 Impala 4dr, a 55 chevy with a shortened wheelbase, straight axle and tilt nose, who-remembers-what-else. jerry ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim R Hunter" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Cc: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Monday, February 11, 2002 8:15 PM Subject: Re: [Chevelle-List] Cars of our youth.... > > Replies to this message are sent to The Chevelle Mailing List > ------------------------------------------------------------ > > 1) 1st car was a 69 A-body: 1969 Buick Skylark, 350 2bbl, TH350, 4-door & > the requisite "lime green" paint (with a black vinyl interior). > > 2) 2nd car was also an A-body: 1970 Buick Sportwagon, 350 4bbl, TH350, > blue with a white top.
