My bad, the original example was for a 205/65/15 and since the discussion was centered around a 275/40/17 I changed the numbers to match, but I neglected the numbers in the text!  Sorry for any confusion... it should have read:
 
40 � This number refers to the height of the sidewall, or the Aspect Ratio. It is a percentage of the section width. In this example, you would take 40 percent of 275 millimeters and this would give you the sidewall height.
