That's exactly what I used the calculator for when I was testing combinations before I made my purchase.  I had that open plus browsers to Nitto, Goodyear, BFG, and Michelin comparing sizes and who made what.  Nitto was the only ones I found that made 50-series 17" tires close to the sizes I was looking for without going to a racing tread.  That and I found a dealer on the web who happened to have the wheels AND tires and would ship them.  All four were $1530 with 15 extra lugs nuts, mounted/balanced/and UPS delivered to my door.  Couldn't beat that...http://www.wheelsforless.com

That page is the best one yet that explains tire and wheel sizes.  I really like the tire size calculator, it allows you to compare sizes to see how they relate to each other.  This will come in handy when I'm ready to get tires for my 17" wheels that have been sitting in boxes since August.  I want the front tires to be a little shorter than the rears (gotta have some rake), otherwise the stance won't look right.
