I have a blast cabinet and I noticed that my craftman 6 horse had to run all the time and the flow was kinda slow. I finally bit the bullit and got a big 60 gallon 2 stage upright compressor. I now have all the air I need.. As to your tips, I dont think it matters what size you use for what media, but I would stay with the smallest tip which should reduce the air demand somewhat.
