Hi all,
We took your advise on having the 327 heads rebuilt .... good
thing to - the original motor has the power pack heads with small
combustion chambers and the 350 heads had 76cc combustion chambers. We
would have lost tons of compression.
Anyway - another problem.
My son installed an Edelbrock high prof. cam, high prof valve
springs, Edelbrock timing gears and chain, Crane roller rockers, and crane push
rods.
He already has an edelbrock manifold and Hei ignition.
We rolled back the crank to 5 degrees before TDC and then dropped the
distributor (as edelbrock instructed).
We have set the valve lash 3 times now and dropped in the
distributor twice.
the darn thing doesn't seem to time up right. Lots
of power but runs like shit, misses and pings. Any
Ideas??? We've been told the crane rockers and push rods are
compatible with the Edelbrock cam but I'm getting a little concerned about the
clearance.
