Somebody tell me, does anyone out there think they know, all there is to
know, about Hot-rodding?

The TH-350 is a three speed automatic introduced in '69 (I think). It is
lighter, requires less horse-power, and has gear ratios similar to the
TH-400. It has a cable down-shift. Savvy drag racers can lower there ETs
with this medium duty tranny.
The TH-400 was GM's first three speed tranny, it is common in truck and
performance applications. It is heaver, uses more horsepower, but it is
tough to destroy. It has electric down-shift. This is the favorite for
towing, or insane horsepower applications. Versions of these trannys are
used all the way up into large Motor-homes. I like the electric down-shift
because it is more "tunable". I would guess this is the darling of the auto
trannys, because hot-rodders like to fix it once, and fix it good.
