Long post....A friend of mine has a 1970 SS Chevelle 396 350hp car sitting in
his parents garage that he wants to sell. It was built in Canada so I called
and got the data sheet on the car so we know it is a real SS 396 M21 4sp car.
It was used as a drag car in the early 70s and has class winner decals all
over the inside trunk lid. The motor is a 396 but not original. It has a lot
of hot rod parts on it such as Holley, Edelbrock, headers, latter bars,
scatter shield, Hurst shifter, 4:88 gears, and giant rear tires on centerline
mags. The car looks like a 1970s era hot rod and was a 12sec street car. It
only shows 13,000 on the odometer and is very solid and straight but the
paint is driver quality. He wants me buy it or sell it for him. Anyone have
any guesses on its value? I am not sure what to tell him. I know pictures
would help but we don't have any yet. I told him all the aftermarket parts
lowers the value which surprised him because he spent $8000.00 building the
car in the mid 80s..thanks
