I haven't followed all the msgs closely , but     IF you are going with
the 400 - i believe that they have an electric kickdown system - hadn't
seen any mention of that.        IF you are going with a 700 - they have
electric lockup for the torque converter.   I've got  links that may help
with the wiring.   400 & 700 are close to the same length.  If you need
to shorten drive shaft for one, the other will need it too.

 A  700 can withstand a  mild big block on the street,  especially a
mostly cruiser only.    If you want to use tires that will hook you up,
the 700 will not last too long unless its built by a pro.   Post 86 700's
are stronger than earlier years.
