Start by listing all the components of the engine. Have
you already decided on a cam, intake, CR, etc. yet? If
you pick a fairly common combo your engine shop or other
BBC drivers might be able to give you a good guesstimate.
Make sure the TH350 or TH400 you get has the Chevy bolt
pattern and not the BOP pattern. The Chevy pattern
features a peak ("^" shape) at the top of the housing
while the BOP pattern is bowed between the 2 top bolt
holes.
