Jeff,
Did you have to jack the engine up for the hookers, or did they fit up from the bottom?

Subject: Re: [Chevelle-List] best fit headers for '69 BB

The Hooker Comp Part# 2455 fits very will on my '69 with BBC and manual transmission.  I'm very pleased,  I didn't have to modify them to fit, and nothing hits.  I have a used set for sale, although I may have just sold them.

I got new ones from Jet-Hot, using the Team Chevelle discount.  $330 shipped to my door, coated.   Ask for Chris if you call them directly.

I almost tried the Dynomax from AutoZone.  They're much cheaper, but I already had the Hookers on order before I learned of this.

good luck,

Just put flowtech headers on my 454 and they fit ok but the clutch return spring is a real problem. Still not sure what I will do with it, right now it is wrapped against one of the pipes and kid of goes around it. Not good..

It's about time for me to replace the headers in my '69 el Camino with a BB. What does anyone recommend for an easy fit with good performance? Okay, maybe easy fit is not the correct phrase, how about easier fit.

Thanks Guys,
Great to have you back!
