Subject: Re: [Chevelle-List] car sits lower on one side

My 71 looked like a pretty good specimen when I first saw it except it sat at least an inch and a half lower on the drivers side. The guy who owned it wasn't home when I got there to see the car. His wife let me look it over until he got home. I crawled around underneath it in the rain to see if I could see any signs of frame damage. I couldn't see anything. While I was under the car he got home. He bent down and said, "I'm the reason the car leans." I crawled out from under the car to meet a very large, 6' 6", 400 pound guy who drove the car for about 4 years.

I put new springs all around and the car sits nice and level.

O.K. it looks as though the elcy sits one inch lower on the drivers side. I took my hand and measured from the top of the tire to the wheel well on the passengers side and my hand fit , on the drivers side I did the same and was not able to fit entire hand in the same way.( high engineering tests here) What would cause a vehicle to sit like this?
