question
Hey
Folks!...Whelp,I bought a SB 350 30over for my 69ss a little while back and at
that time the motor was smoking something fierce when I first fired it
up...I let the guy know what was going on he said, pull the motor and
bring it back...I wasn't to happy I had to pull it again but,I did.He tells me
the heads he bought from summit (World Product) were sent with no valve
seals!...so he put valve seals in,he said the rings seated also...I put the
motor back in last weekend and son of a bitch,it's still smokin'!...not as bad
but, still bad enough to make the car look like a piece of shit....the motor
has about 125mi on it.The reason I bought this motor is because on
my old motor I dropped a valve. Now,being that I dropped a valve (no#5 cyl.) is
it possible that the smoke I see now,is the reminisce of the oil that made
it's way into the exhaust? (Smoke is coming out of both pipes)...could the
fact that there were no valve seals mess something up?...the oil pressure is
steady at 50-60psi...it'll runs at 170-180 deg all day....I put a white cloth
in front of the tail pipe and seen no oil on it (Like I would have
before)...it's a white smoke...I put my hand in front of the tail pipe and I
could see moisture on it but,not much (I don't see antifreeze)...it's got a
750 Edelbrock (To big,I know)...I emailed him about 5days ago and he never got
back to me,maybe he thinks it'll go away but,it's not!.Hey,any help would be
appreciated!
Thanks,
Jack
