I believe it's called the brake metering valve. It's a feature of all mixed disc and drum systems but it's almost always a part of the combination valve (picture at http://www.ucalgary.ca/~csimpson/Tech/Combo.jpg shows the combined valve with the metering valve at left side.) Only the early disc cars have the metering valve as a separate part. Supposedly you should hold that valve open (or closed, I forget which) when you bleed the brakes but I don't think most people worry about it.
