Jim, You'll like the change to W2K in the long run, believe me. I've been running W2K Pro for over a year and like it much better than Win98 or NT. I have W2K Pro on my PC, my wife's PC and W2K server on a third here at the house and currently manage about 175 or so at work with another 100+ yet to upgrade.
Wallpaper is easier with W2K as you can use .JPG files or .GIF files as well as .BMP files, and the file can be anywhere on your PC; you're not limited to a single folder or even to the C: drive. Images downloaded from the web that you might want to use for wallpaper doesn't have to be designated as such, just save them in any folder or folders you like. Then: 1. Right-click on your desktop 2. Select ~Properties~ - the Background tab should be the default selection. 3. Click ~Browse~ 4. Navigate to any folder and select the file you want. 5. Click ~OK~ and you're done. If you have Active Desktop running (and there are two ways of activating it), you can even put a second picture - again, any type in any folder from any drive - on your desktop as well. 1. Same procedure as above except in step 2, select the ~Web~ tab 2. Check "Show Web content on my Active Desktop" 3. Select "New" and browse to any file on your PC or even on the Internet and select it. ...or... 1. Right-click on your desktop 2. Select "Active Desktop > Customize my desktop W2K is also easier to add/delete users (if you're so inclined), has a built in defragmenter that actually works pretty well, a customizable "Quick Launch" bar between the Start button and the rest of the Task Bar.
