Update. I had a bad wheel hop problem on my restoration with new springs, boxed upper and lower control arms, and three inch spacers under the spring (were there when I bought the car, I did not know they did not belong).
Yesterday I removed the 3" spacers and now the car sits level, rides better, and lays rubber through first and second gear without wheel hopping. It has stock sized tires on it however so I don't know what would happen if it were getting a good grip on the road. Problem solved!
