Dale, I had to run out and check mine! Both my 67 SS 396, and my 67 L6 Elky(note NOT LS6 :-() have 5/8" heater hoses going from the water pump to the top "bung" on the heater and 3/8" hoses from the intake to the bottom "bung"...both non A/C....seems to be correct judging the size of the fittings. Subject: [Chevelle-List] Heater hose sizes and connections
Reading a post on TC concerning heater hose size and
checking my two cars, I'm in a quandary.
I have a 67 327 Elky with factory air and a 67 396 SS
without factory air.
Elky:
5/8" heater hose from intake to bottom bung on heater box
3/4" heater hose from water pump to top bung on heater box
SS396:
5/8" heater hose from water pump to bottom bung on heater
box
3/4" heater hose from intake to top bung on heater box
I've had the 67 SS running this way for any number of years
but I just got the Elky last fall and haven't replaced hoses yet. It seems
the hose sizes and locations are just the opposite between the two cars.
Does the A/C make a difference or is that one's a small block and one's a
big block?
