1) Never heard that. I always heard that you should drain the oil and then replace with 4 qts oil and 1 qt transmission fluid (assuming you have a 5 qt pan). Run it for a while & drain & refill w/ oil like Krister said.
2) you can also dribble trans fluid right into the carburetor. It will make lots of smoke, but it will clean things up in the fuel system. 3) I have never actually tried either of the above methods myself, so get another opinion first.
