[Chevelle-List] Two Questions / Need Help

Morning All......

I have 2 questions and need some help and or advice from the panel of experts here on this site.....

First Question.... Is there anyway of checking or testing a proportioning valve out to see if its ok and what does it consist of ? I have one here that I blew air through and cleaned with brake cleaner and its seems to be fine as far as I know but is there actually another way of checking them ?

Second Question........Anyone know where I can find a fuel tank sending unit filter for a gas tank from a 66 Chevelle. Been calling parts stores after part stores. Is this something you can get from GM Dealer ? I live in Northeast Philly and maybe someone from the area knows of a place except for Pep Boys cause they don't know Jack. I once went to a Pep Boys and inquired on a BM Shifter and they said oh no we dont stock them you have to special order them from the mfg. But as walking around there were 2 on the shelf. Figure that out !!
