I would guess that most likely your prop valve is good. Very rarely do you see one go bad. If the parts are clean and seem to move I would guess it is fine. Only real way I know to test one is in the car. I've never replaced one in my 5 years of work. You may however, have to re-center the valve. This is outlined in most crap-lin's manuals or Haynes. I'm not real familiar with one that old so I will leave it at that. Another trick I have used is banging it lightly to medium with a hammer, if that doesn't free it tap lightly while someone pumps the brake pedal. It would not surprise me to see a valve that has been out on the bench a while to be stuck at first. Make sure that the valve is centered and all the air is out of the system before you say it is bad. It is not uncommon for people to have problems when the entire system goes dry and need a power or air bleeder (available at most auto shops). Also beware of crude getting in the master or blowing the seals in the master. Hope this helps. Mikey
