I've got a backhalved 68 Chevelle. I did the adjustable ladder bar and coil over route. My frame rails are 24" wide on the outside. My rearend is 40-1/2 housing end to housing end, with a 46-1/2" axle flange to flange diminsion. I used 33 X 16 X 15 slicks on Weld 15 X 14 X 5 backspaced wheels. What you have to do is decide what tire & wheel package to run. Next you need to measure several things, cheeck to cheeck of tire, wheel mounting surface to inside cheeck(backspacing), distance between inside fenders, etc. Then you can calculate how wide the rearend and frame rails will be. Art Morrison (What I did & would use again) has this formula (worksheet) to figure it all out. I suppose that ART in FL, and Chassis Eng., Alston or other manufactures have this info also. As far as ladder bar vs. 4 link if I did it again I would do a full tube chassis with the 4 link set-up and struts or pinto sytle drag race front end. Hope this helps.
