The guy described it that way and I took his word for it. He
had the buckets w/ console and A/T. I didn't even look for SS nameplates in the
interior, so I can't verify that. he did say that it had an SS interior though.
Maybe he just thought it was because of the buckets & console. -----Original
Message----- What do you mean by SS interior? Aside from the nameplate
above the glovebox and SS on the standard steering wheel, the only
difference was the black crinkle finish instead of wood grain on the dash
strip. Bucket seats (A51), console (D55) , gauges (U14), custom deluxe
seat belts (A39), sport steering wheel (N34), etc were all available as regular
production items on any Malibu Sport Coupe or Convertible. The only
difference in seats was you could get a cloth (bench) seat in the Malibu Sport
Coupe and couldn't get cloth in the SS. I'd have to see a built
sheet, window sticker, or bill of sale to see what code was used to designate a
SS interior. Just curious about the dash strip. I've never seen a 67 SS with
factory air that had the black plastic strip with an A/C vent in the center? Dale McIntosh -----Original
Message----- There was a 67 Malibu at
the MCC show (a friend of Herb's) that had a two-tone paint job and got the SS
interior (by special order) from the factory. -----Original Message----- According
to GMs literature, there were seven two-tone combinations available in the 67
Chevelle lineup and two exceptions. Two-tone was not available on
Concours Custom Wagon or Convertibles. |
