Have a point there Chad.  There's a difference between fast and quick; as in how ~fast~ the car will go and how ~quick~ will it get to a given speed.  My first 67 SS with a 4.10 gear would run 100/110 and not have much left.  This was with factory bias ply tires on the Interstate.  For 7 weekends straight I drove it from Ft. Sill, OK to Kansas City (900 miles round trip).  Left OK Sat around noon after military inspection was over and returned on Sun night.  Another 67 I had with 4.56 gears ran the quarter mile in the low 13's right at 105 mph at 5600 in 4th gear.    Theoretically, my current 67 SS with a 3.07 gear would/could run 147 mph top end at 5600 but would run the same quarter mile probably in the 15's at less than 100.  So, while it may be faster, it's not quicker.
