[Chevelle-List] Vin #'s

I have a 64 El Camino and have been checking out the numbers and have run in to a problem. On my vin number it says it came out with a 6 cyl and on the cowl tag it says 8 cyl. Any ideas. It doesn't look like either of them has been changed.  Also on my cowl tag on the bottom line it says ACC E 5V. Are these some of the numbers that can't be identifed? Thanks Vernon ACES # 05503
