Dunno about what was required with the SS package on 67 and 68 Camaros but my Chilton's shows no less than 8 327's for 67 Camaros (incl a few 210hp models) and 2 for 68 Camaros as well as various 350's for both years. An "EA" coded 327 is from a 65-68 Chevelle.
Chilton shows: 67/68 Camaro 327 3 or 4 speed (210hp) "MA" 67 Camaro 327 w/ex. EM (with exhaust emission) "MB" 67/68 Camaro 327 PG. (210hp) "ME" 67 Camaro PG w/ex. EM "MF" 67 Camaro 327/275 3 or 4 spd (275hp) "MK" 67 Camaro 327 3 or 4 spd w/ex. EM "ML" 67 Camaro 327 PG (275hp) "MM" 67 Camaro 327 PG w/ex. EM "MN" "MS", "MT", "MU" and "MV" were 350 suffix codes for 67/68 Camaros. The "SS327" text was pulled from the original poster of the question.
