Tim, For Aftermarket Consoles:
Who made the console? -It is a Hurst DualGate shifter, made by Hurst in the late '60's. How much was it? -Whew! $225 for the shifter, $125 for reproduction console, $200 rechrome the top plate, $20 neutral safety switch (NOS !), homemade mounting brackets (MANY HOURS !), homemade wiring harness. What features does it have? -The Dual/Gate feature allows the shifter to switch from "traditional" shifting (pull lever into "D" and leave it there), or slide the chrome cover up to expose the "ratchet shift" features (bang 2nd, release, bang 3rd). Why did you pick this over Stock and Custom consoles? -It was the shifter/console that was used in the 1969 Yenko Camaro's and Chevelle's and probably other high performance "tuners" (Nickey, Baldwin-Motion, Dana), and the fact that it is rather rare to see one installed, and it looks absolutely "BITC#EN" in the car ! :) Hope this helps. Kent Lewis '68 Malibu ZZ502/502 ACES #5102 Hello, In school I am doing a project on custom consoles, aftermarket, and stock consoles. I need to research the three, find out which is the most useable to the driver, and how much each cost. I need to ask a huge favor to anybody that has these. If you could fill out a little survey for me, it would be greatly appreciated. For Custom Consoles: Did you make it? How long did it take? How much money did it cost? What features does it have(cup holders, etc)? Why did you pick this over Aftermarket and Stock consoles? For Aftermarket Consoles: Who made the console? How much was it? What features does it have? Why did you pick this over Stock and Custom consoles? Stock Consoles: What features does it have? Did you install it, or was it actually stock in your car? Are you happy with it? Why did you pick this over Aftermarket and Stock consoles? Thank you very much! -Tim ----------------------------------------------------- To Unsubscribe please visit www.chevelles.net/list.html To start a new topic, send mail to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ----------------------------------------------------- To Unsubscribe please visit www.chevelles.net/list.html To start a new topic, send mail to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
