Kent,

The rep from Coolflex swears up and down it's 2" as well. I probably have
the exception to the rule but...I just replaced my radiator with an aluminum
unit. The current lower hose is a flex hose. Thinking I'd have to get a
longer one I didn't pay attention to which end went where when I removed it.
Testing for length after the installation I found it would still work. Then
I thought, did I just get lucky with the two ends so I turned the hose
around and it still fit. I then measured the O.D. of the lower hose outlet
on the water pump and it matched the input on the radiator. Both will take
the 1 3/4" hose size. Granted the pump is nearly 15 years old and I
purchased it from Summit simply as a chrome replacement, but it's apparently
not the same as other big block water pumps. Looks like something I'll have
to remember if/when the pump needs replacement - get a new hose at the same
time :)
