Bob, it's plastis so more care is needed B-4 spraying.
If you have no scratches, it becomes a cleaning job,  All the years of dirt and cleaner need to be removed. scrub with a brush and DAWN detergent and  then when you rinse it off WASH it again. also take your  plastic glove box emblem ( if your has one) and prep it the same way.
I have used argent silver ( rattle can ) in tha past. After paying attention to the recoat time,  I then dusted it with clear.
It kind of give it that simi gloss apperence.
Then use a Testers hobby  paint pen to detail the leters and script.
It's not VCCOA correct but IT WORKS.

Subject: [Chevelle-List] Dash paint

I am looking to paint the dash bezel of my 65 Malibu.
Is there a special way to prep it?
What is the correct color(s)?
What type of paint should be used, model paint for plastics or regular car paint?
Thanks for any help.
