In all honesty, if you want to store your car on jack stands so your tires don't get flat spots, I wouldn't worry too much about it. If you have modern radials, any flat spots from sitting will go away within the first couple miles of driving after storage.
Besides, what if your house catches on fire, you won't have time to get your Chevelle off the jack stands and out of the garage!
